Dr. Deborah Donati is a medical Graduate, Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist.
She pursued her specialist studies in personality and the treatment of its problems, carrying out clinical practice, perfecting her research skills and subsequently extending her knowledge as an Expert at the Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Unit of the Department of Neuropsychiatric Sciences at the Scientific Institute S. Raffaele Turro in Milan, where she focused on Axis II DSM Personality Disorders with specific interest in the B Cluster.
For over 15 years, Dr. Donati worked in the same Department as Consultant for the psycho-diagnostic and psychotherapeutic area, with clinical and research responsibilities, as well as in several Psychiatry Units also taking responsibility for liaison with other research groups.
From 2001 up to the present, Dr. Donati has extended her clinical and scientific interests to the assessment of the severity of Personality Disorder diagnoses, to the forensic evaluation area and to the psycho-social aspects of HIV+ subjects.
A trainer for the use of the SCID-II Interview, from 1999 up to 2007 Dr. Donati held different positions in the San Raffaele Vita-Salute University, teaching Personality Theory in an Experimental Course of Higher Education for Social Workers and acting as Tutor for the School of Psychology’s Clinical Curriculum and Tutor for the Psychology Course in Communication (School of Medicine), teaching Personality Test Theories and Techniques and Tests Theory and Techniques and Techniques of Personality Assessment Tests at the School of Psychology
Dr. Donati is a Member of the International Society for the Study of Personality Disorders (ISSPD), of the International Society for Psychotherapy Research (SPR) and of the International Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration (SEPI).
She has authored many national and international conference papers as well as scientific publications on Personality and its Disorders. In her research Dr. Donati has contributed to the Italian translation/validation and/or development of several psychodiagnostic instruments such as (most recently): the Inventory of Interpersonal problems-47 for Personality Disorders (IIP-PD), the Severity Indices of Personality Problems (SIPP), the Health Functioning Rating Scale – SWAP-200 (HFRS-SWAP-200), the Big Five Inventory (BFI) and the Dimensional Assessment of Personality Pathology – Brief Questionnaire (DAPP-BQ).
As mentioned in “Marquis Who's Who in the World” (2011), since September 2009 Dr. Donati has been Founder Member and President of the Psyche-dendron Association.
